With less than a month until King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla's coronation, the royal family is in a state of panic as the clock ticks down for the once-in-a-generation event.
The crowning ceremony for Charles and Camilla is allegedly in a "race against time" to finalise elements of the Westminster Abbey event due to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's preparations.
The 74-year-old monarch's coronation preparations went substantially late, raising worries that the public may turn off and pile additional pressure on the monarch's rocky start to his reign.
According to The Mirror, royal aides are working around the clock to ensure everything is flawless for the big day. Yet, significant concerns have emerged at the core of the May 6 event preparation.
Seating plans have still to be finalised because the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have yet to confirm their presence despite the April 3 deadline, according to the media site.
The royals have been painstakingly practising their parts in a "mock-up Abbey" specifically created within Buckingham Palace, according to sources.
There are "genuine worries" that the King would trip on his way up to the Chairs of State, where Charles and Camilla will sit after being crowned in the centre of Westminster Abbey.
Skilled artisans have apparently been called in to construct a ramp leading up to the two Throne Seats so that the King does not have to strain to get to his position.
It is also unknown which tiaras the female royals will wear. "Senior female royals were just told of costumes this week, forcing a scramble to finalise fitting arrangements," the insider noted.
