Madonna praised her children for standing up for her after a health crisis prompted her to cancel her world tour.
The 64-year-old pop music star, who was hospitalised in June, went to Instagram to laud her children, sharing a trio of images with her 19 million followers, along with a poignant post, as she reminisced on the previous month since her hospitalisation.
One photograph showed her with her firstborn kid, Lourdes Leon, 26, who made a peace sign while standing with her adoring mother.
'The finest medicine is love from family and friends. 'One month out of the hospital, and I can reflect,' she said at the start of her message.
Another photo showed the controversial musician cuddling her 17-year-old son David.
'As a Mother, you can sometimes get caught up in the demands of your children and the seemingly unending giving........... But when the chips were down, my children truly stood up for me,' the statement read.
'I saw a side to them I had never seen before,' the singer said. It was the deciding factor. So did my friends' affection and support.'
The living icon will celebrate her birthday on August 16th.
After being discovered collapsed on the floor of her New York City residence on June 24, she was transported to the ICU and intubated.
Doctors later informed DailyMail.com that the actress appeared worn down, emaciated, and fatigued in the days leading up to her near-death from a bacterial illness.
On July 10, she broke her silence regarding the trauma on social media.
'I appreciate your good energy, prayers, and healing and encouraging comments. I could feel your affection. 'I'm on the mend and appreciative for all the gifts in my life,' she explained.
