Claudette Dion, Celine Dion's sister, revealed out about the singer's tragic fight with stiff person syndrome after she was forced to postpone her global tour.
In an interview with Le Journal de Montreal, Claudette said that the My Heart Will Go On singer's family has been unable to locate "any medicine that works," but they have not given up hope.
She informed the magazine that their other sister, Linda Dion, has been caring for Celine and has relocated to Las Vegas with the singer and her three boys, René-Charles, Eddy, and Nelson.
"I honestly believe she needs to rest," Claudette stated of Celine. "She always goes above and beyond [when performing], she always tries to be the best and to be at the top of her game."
"At some point, your heart and your body are attempting to communicate with you. It's critical to pay attention to it," she said of the singer's decision to postpone her tour.
Claudette went on to say that she has been 'listening to the leading researchers in the field of this uncommon disease as much as possible'.
"[Performing] is innate to her, she's disciplined in every area of her life," she explained, adding that Celine is "working hard" to overcome the uncommon ailment.
Previously, in May, the singer received widespread sympathy after announcing that she was abandoning her global tour following her illness, which had been postponed until December 2022.
She said on Instagram, "It is with tremendous disappointment that we have to announce today the cancellation of the Courage World Tour."
"I'm really sorry to disappoint you all again. "I'm working really hard to regain my strength, but touring can be difficult even when you're at your peak," she continued.
She did, however, promise her supporters that she is not "giving up" and that she is eager to perform for them once she has improved.
