Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is now available to watch on demand. The second installment of Miles Morales' multiverse adventures is now available for rental and purchase on Apple TV, YouTube Movies, Amazon Prime Video, and Zee5. Only Apple TV provides the premium Ultra HD version with Dolby Atmos audio, albeit it is only available for Rs. 490. An SD (standard definition) version is also available for Rs. 390, and both have subtitles in many languages. The film costs Rs. 590 for the SD version and Rs. 820 for the 1080p full-HD print on YouTube Movies – neither outlet offers rental alternatives.
Renting Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is only available on Amazon Prime Video and Zee5, albeit the latter's price is a little weird. Both SD and HD versions are marketed for Rs. 399, which doesn't make much sense given that the consumer would prefer higher resolution if they had the internet connection to support it. Meanwhile, the version on Zee5 doesn't specify which version you'll get, but given the Rs. 349 price tag and the fact that it's aimed for Indians (regional pricing), I'm inclined to guess it'll be HD resolution. The portal also provides audio in 10 regional languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Malayalam, Bengali, Kannada, Punjabi, and Gujarati.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse topped the box office, generating $683.8 million (about Rs. 56,62 crore) worldwide and became the highest-grossing Sony Pictures Animation film. If the stats and reviews aren't enough to sway you, IGN has exclusively released the opening 10 minutes of the film, which should give you a good idea of what to expect. Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), now reunited with Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld), is hurled across the universe and ensnared within an interdimensional web of Spider-People in order to discover a big conspiracy. When commander Miguel O'Hara/ Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac) proposes a risky option to rescue the multiverse, Miles rejects it, sparking an all-out conflict in which he jumps across realms, is mauled by a Spider-Cat, and more.
Because of his extraordinary skills that allow him to open and travel between portals, The Spot (Jason Schwartzman) appears to be the mystery force causing the multiverse's demise. Daniel Kaluuya plays Spider-Punk, Issa Rae plays Jessica Drew/ Spider-Woman, and Jake Johnson plays the original Spider-Man/ Peter Parker. Meanwhile, Karan Soni plays Pavitr Prabhakar/Spider-Man India, whose world Mumbattan is depicted in a watercolour manner reminiscent of ancient Indian comic books. throughout addition to the quirky doodle doodles that give a lot of personality, there are six distinct art styles throughout the film.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is currently available as a video-on-demand release on YouTube Movies, Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and Zee5. It is also still showing at a few venues around the country.
