The title of this year's Call of Duty has been confirmed as Modern Warfare III, and it will be released on November 10th. Activision released a quick teaser with an abstract mosaic of classic series characters — Captain Price and Vladimir Makarov — and a voiceover saying, "Never bury your enemies alive." There's also a reference to 'heads of snakes,' which might be a reference to the ultranationalist Russian Makarov, who was also the major enemy in the original MW3 (2011). Sledgehammer Games is leading the development of the sequel, which is part of a trilogy of Modern Warfare soft reboots that began in 2019.
The release date of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 corresponds to a May story that stated Activision was planned a reveal sometime in early August, hinting that it was a continuation of the arc of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The publisher had previously chosen against releasing a solo product this year, instead focusing on a 'premium expansion' that includes campaign DLC and a classic map pack. According to Bloomberg games writer Jason Schreier, the business changed its mind earlier this year and opted to release it as a full-priced game. The preview is brief, but a recent tweet from the Call of Duty account suggests that weaponry and operators from Modern Warfare 2 will be carried over to the sequel.
This is great news for the multiplayer community because it means they won't have to give up their unlocked awards and bought stuff from the previous installment. The technique appears to be very similar to a live-service experience, as indicated by an Activision official in 2022, in that it is constantly updated with fresh material. Sledgehammer Games was previously in charge of producing Call of Duty: Vanguard, which was a flop, with help from Treyarch and Infinity Ward. For its yearly releases, the publisher rotates between these three companies, interrupting the cycle last year by changing Treyarch's scheduled game from 2023 to 2024.
According to reports, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will receive at least two beta weekends for multiplayer testing, the first of which will be exclusive to PlayStation and will take place from October 6-10. This preferential status may alter in light of Microsoft's current $69 billion (about Rs. 5,71,316 crore) acquisition of Activision. The second test weekend will purportedly take place from October 12 to 16 and will be open to Xbox and PC users alike. In keeping with tradition, a campaign early access for pre-order consumers is anticipated to begin on November 2. For the time being, it's unclear whether MW3 will also fall into the $70 category, however the franchise will remain available on PlayStation for at least another ten years.
Activision has yet to announce platforms, although Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is likely to be released on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X.
