Zoe Saldana recently discussed her experiences as a woman of colour in Hollywood, emphasising the additional effort she has had to put in to attain her goals.
In an interview with PORTER, the 45-year-old American-Dominican actress emphasised the difficulties that Latinos experience, adding that they are accustomed to working diligently throughout their lives.
Zoe, who is married to Marco Perego-Saldaa and has three children, expressed thanks to her husband for shouldering the majority of childcare duties with "no resentment" as she pursued her job.
During the conversation, she also discussed her strong work ethic, which she attributes to her Latino roots. "You know, there is no such thing as retirement. That is how Latinos are. You labour till your death. It's a natural part of existence. It's ingrained in your society.
"When you first start out as a person of colour and a woman, you feel like you have to work twice as hard and twice as long." We are finally enjoying the results of our efforts. "I honestly believe we're only getting started."
Zoe spoke about her family life in addition to her job and ancestry. She lauded her husband's active engagement in household duties, adding, "I have a partner who is an active participant in our domestic life."
"I know it'll be my turn soon to pass that baton, but he did it with love and no resentment."
The Avatar actress looked great in a variety of costumes in the following shoot, including a black bralet coupled with high-waisted white tailored slacks, a structured black strapless dress, a dazzling red dress, a long beige coat, and a casual blue shirt and jeans combination.
Zoe has received acclaim for her parts in popular series such as Guardians of the Galaxy, Avatar, and Star Trek.
