Adam Lambert recently talked about The Voice Australia reality competition.
"The format is a little different from American Idol, which I was on, but I love that we get to mentor people and form a team," Lambert stated in a recent interview with Perth Now.
Lambert elaborated: "I think that's what drew me to this in the first place, the chance to get to help, give them some helpful criticism and encouragement."
"It's an exciting creative process," said the performer, who, along with LeAnn Rimes and Kate Miller Heidke, will replace outgoing judges Rita Ora, Jessica Mauboy, and Jason Derulo in the forthcoming 13th season.
When asked about this season, Lambert said, "It's exceeded any expectations I had." "The talent is incredible."
"There are many types of vocalists and something for everyone. "I know that sounds like a generic pitch, but there is," the singer stated.
Lambert went further: "We have singers doing contemporary pop songs, country and soul."
For those unfamiliar, the performer, who finished second on the 2009 season of American Idol, launched a solo career with his Billboard number-three debut album For Your Entertainment.
