Hugh Jackman sent a poignant tribute on Instagram to his late music instructor, Brian Buggy.
The actor uploaded a black and white photo of Buggy leading an orchestra with the caption, "I want to pay tribute to Brian, OAM." He was in charge of music at Knox High School. He instilled a profound passion and enthusiasm for music in myself, as well as literally hundreds of other pupils throughout the years."
He also mentioned a lesson he received from Buggy, saying, "That affection has lasted with me my entire life. His classes were full of comedy, and he could easily command an audience. My heartfelt sympathies, enormous respect, and endless appreciation go out to Brian's family."
Notably, from 1975 until 2007, Brian was the music director at Knox High School. Following that, he became the conductor of the Sydney Youth Orchestra Philharmonic.
The Sydney Youth Orchestra also paid homage to Buggy with an emotional statement: "Brian will be remembered for his generosity, wit, vast musical knowledge, and passion for teaching, as well as a love of a good piece of cake and a conversation."
They ended with the following sentence: "Through a life dedicated to music and education, his legacy extends across Australia and around the world, living on through the many thousands of young people impacted by his work."
