Sam Neill recently revealed information about his chemotherapy treatment for stage-three blood cancer.
On the first episode of ABC's The Assembly, the Jurassic Park star stated, "I'm on a different one now, so at least I don't look like somebody's bald thumb."
"That's what I looked like for quite a while — it was embarrassing," the 76-year-old added.
Sam joked: "I lost my beard and everything, and my dignity went with it."
The Assassin Club star spoke up about cancer in 2022 during his first trip back to New Zealand.
His son Tim told Australian Story that his father had been back in New Zealand for an hour when a doctor called with the devastating news.
"After he hung off the phone, we sat down and had a little weep together. It was meant to be a pleasant day. "He didn't get to stay," said Sam's kid.
The actor's kid went on to say, "I was really fighting for my life." And everything was a new and somewhat frightening universe."
"I had three or four months of reasonably conventional chemotherapies, which are, brutal," said the Scarygirl actress.
Sam felt his health was improving, but then he received even worse news: the cancer had returned and was more serious this time.
The actor stated that he was given an experimental cancer treatment, which worked.
Sam revealed that he has been in "remission for almost two years now," but he is "prepared" for it to cease working soon.
"I know I have it, but I'm not very interested in it. It's beyond of my control. "If you can't control it, don't get into it," the actor said.
Sam pointed out: "The sessions are grueling, very grim and depressing."
