Telegram announced a series of new features on Thursday aimed at improving the overall user experience. One of the most significant updates to the instant messaging platform is a new in-app browser that supports multiple tabs. The messaging service has also revealed that its 950 million monthly active users may now utilize a new feature to present Telegram Stars to friends and family. This update comes a month after the platform added support for Copilot, Microsoft's artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot.
Telegram has been updated with a mini app store and a multi-tab in-app browser
In a blog post, Telegram outlined all of the new capabilities that would be available to users with the next release. According to the service, it delivers a new in-app browser that allows users to flip between closed and reopened windows by launching numerous tabs simultaneously.
Telegram's new in-app browser now supports decentralized websites hosted on the Telegram Open Network (TON) on both mobile and desktop platforms. According to Telegram, users may switch between conversations while browsing a webpage without losing their progress.
Furthermore, material created using mini apps, such as leaderboard snapshots or AI-generated films, may now be shared as a Telegram Story directly from the tiny app. Stories also has a new animated weather widget. Telegram Stars, which were previously used to purchase material in micro applications or premium channel content, may now be given to friends and family.
Aside from the mobile platform, the new in-app browser and small applications tab capabilities were added to macOS as part of the July release, according to Telegram.
