Tom Cruise added his usual flare to the 2024 Paris Olympics closing ceremony, which marked the move to Los Angeles for the 2028 Games.
On Sunday, August 11, the action hero, 62, performed a daring skydiving feat from the top of the Stade de France before gently landing on the field. He was met by athletes and a thrilling performance by H.E.R, who had just performed the national song.
After collecting the Olympic flag from Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and gold medal-winning gymnast Simone Biles, Cruise rode away on a motorbike.
The Mission: Impossible actor then traveled to Hollywood via pre-recorded video. The footage showed Cruise winding through Paris's streets, passing sites such as the Eiffel Tower, and boarding an aircraft heading for Los Angeles.
Cruise skydived towards the famed Hollywood sign, replacing its "O"s with Olympic rings before handing over the flag to Olympic cyclist Kate Courtney.
Courtney, along with Olympians Michael Johnson and Jagger Eaton, continued their adventure across Los Angeles, finally landing at a Red Hot Chili Peppers performance on Venice Beach. Billie Eilish and Snoop Dogg also performed during the event, which concluded with a dramatic handoff to the next host city.
The Hollywood daredevil has long supported the Olympics, attending a variety of events during the Paris Games.
