The highly anticipated Korean series Squid Game, helmed by South Korean filmmaker Hwang Dong-hyuk, has already stated that there would be a second season.
Rumours have circulated online that Hollywood's well-known filmmaker David Fincher, who has created successes such as Gone Girl and Fight Club, may recreate the popular series Squid Game.
Addressing the rumors, the show's creator stated his feelings, saying, "It's still mine."
According to Deadline, the 53-year-old filmmaker and producer stated, "I saw that article in Deadline, but I don't think it's official yet, so I can't say much about it."
While thanking David for his incredible effort and ability, Hwang stated that he respects him and will surely watch the Squid Game remake.
"I respect David Fincher. I enjoy his work, therefore if he creates a remake of Squid Game, as a fan, I will watch it. I think he'll build an excellent Squid Game. It is still mine!"
During an honest interview, Hwang revealed that he did not design the series to teach a moral lesson, but rather to sell it, since Netflix purchased his program for profit, which he believes is typical in today's culture.
Hwang's interview has calmed Squid Game fans, who can now breathe a sigh of relief as they await season 2. The director stated that the series could take some time to get out.
