Meghan Markle has made another tweak to her engagement ring, and royal watchers are taking note.
Fans spotted the newest update in the trailer for her upcoming Netflix series With Love, Meghan, as well as her recent appearances at the Invictus Games. The center diamond, which was initially a cushion cut, has been changed with a square emerald cut, marking the fourth major change to the ring since Prince Harry first proposed in 2017.
Neil Dutta, a jewelry specialist, says that these modifications mirror Meghan's personal development. "This is a significant departure from the original cushion-cut diamond, reflecting a more contemporary aesthetic," he told me.
Emerald-cut diamonds are noted for their sleek, elongated form, which frequently represents confidence and clarity, attributes Meghan may identify with after leaving the royal family.
Meghan has already adjusted her ring.
In 2019, she switched from the original yellow gold ring, which was originally thought to be her favorite metal, to a more delicate diamond-studded band. Additional diamonds were added in 2022, raising the ring's estimated worth to £250,000.
With the newest modification, analysts believe its value has increased to £300,000.
The ring's makeover appears to symbolize Meghan and Harry's journey, from royal obligations to establishing their own path. "Our most precious jewelry can evolve with us," she said, "reflecting our changing styles, experiences, and the new facets of our lives."
