Ed Sheeran is demonstrating that even when life becomes hectic with global tours, chart-topping singles, and the occasional court appearance, there's always time for a good, old-fashioned friendship—especially with Taylor Swift.
Over a decade after their musical (and emotional) friendship began in 2012, Sheeran is sharing a glimpse into the happy history he has with Swift.
During his visit on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the Shape of You singer spoke out about his fondest experience with the pop diva.
Sheeran spoke warmly on the time he opened for Swift on her Red Tour, which was a watershed point in both their careers and their friendship.
"I lived in Nashville and she lived in Nashville and we used to fly to and from the gigs together and do all sorts of, I don't know," says Sheeran.
"I literally spent almost every single day with her for about six months, so I think that period of time & I do, you know, I see her when I see her."
Apparently, all those nostalgic memories were triggered when going over old voice notes and messages for a court case—most likely referring to his 2023 copyright trial for Thinking Out Loud, in which he was held not guilty.
Of course, life has altered little since 2013.
Sheeran confesses that he and Swift no longer cross paths as frequently, but when they do, they make the most of it.
"I probably see her like four times a year and we do what I said — like instead of catching up the whole time, we have a proper sit-down, six-hour catchups and I think that's a really nice way to do it," he told me.
