Jennifer Garner just initiated a meaningful project to mark her 53rd birthday.
On April 17, the 13 Going On 30 actress took to Instagram to share a video of herself running along the ocean on her birthday.
In the video, Garner mentioned an idea she had when her children were younger and would trick her into giving them a small snack before bedtime.
The Adam Project actor stated that she could not imagine letting her children sleep hungry.
Garner realized that 16,000 children on the earth "are at immediate risk of dying from preventable causes" as a result of acute malnutrition.
So, the Family Switch actress resolved to run a mile every day for the following 67 days.
"I have donated to Save the Children and want to continue doing so, God willing. At this point, it appears that a more general call to action is necessary. So, for the next 67 days, I'm going to run one mile every day (not my favorite or greatest exercise), no matter what," Garner stated in her post.
But, why 67? That's when the actress said, "It costs $67 to provide six weeks of ready-to-eat therapeutic food (RUTF) to bring one child from acute malnutrition to the chance at a healthy, thriving life."
In the caption, Garner said, "As the new year begins, I feel driven to do something, to put my feet on the ground for children.
"I am fortunate to have spent 16 years as an ambassador and trustee for @savethechildren, an organization I like and trust. Save is deeply rooted in these communities, dedicated to care for the world's most vulnerable," revealed the Elektra actress.
Garner added, "Run, walk, bike, wheel, skateboard, crawl for kids. Join me for one mile or 67—any time between now and June 22nd—and tag us with #67Strong4Kids so we can keep each other going."
Finally, she said, "If you'd like to donate $6.70, $16.70, or $67.00, the link is in my bio."
