Following his absence at Pope Francis' burial, King Charles has finally spoken out about Prince William's involvement.
Prince William represented the monarch and the royal family during Pope Francis' burial in the Vatican on Saturday.
William attended the ceremony "on behalf" of King Charles III, in accordance with current custom.
Charles, as Prince of Wales, represented his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, during Pope John Paul II's burial in 2005.
Later, King Charles uploaded a video of Vatican News on X, with the description, "Pope Francis' coffin has been entombed."
The footage recorded the vast throng that had gathered to commemorate the late Pope.
King Charles commented on the article, tweeting, "Earlier today, The Prince of Wales attended Pope Francis' funeral at St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican on behalf of The King."
