Following King Charles and Prince Harry's moving comments on Anzac Day, Prince William and his wife, Princess Kate, paid homage to the heroism, sacrifice, and spirit of Australian and New Zealand troops and women.
Future King William attended activities in London to honor Anzac Day, when Australia and New Zealand remember those who gave their lives for their country. On April 25, the Prince lay a wreath at the Cenotaph before heading to Westminster Abbey for a service.
The Prince and Princess of Wales also posted a moving message on their official Instagram Story, saying, "On ANZAC Day, we honour the courage, sacrifice, and spirit of Australian and New Zealand servicemen and women, past and present, who have proudly served our country."
"Lest We Forget," they ended.
Anzac Day commemorates the anniversary of the Gallipoli landings in World War One. Thousands of Australians and New Zealanders perished during the Turkish war, which began on April 25, 1915 and ended in a stalemate.
Prince William, dressed in a red poppy, was accompanied by his wife Kate to the event, which was attended by hundreds of Australians and New Zealanders stationed in the UK.
The Duke of Sussex' Invictus Games Instagram also paid respect to Australian and New Zealand war veterans, as is customary even though Harry is no longer a working royal.
Harry's message comes an hour after the royal family issued a statement and images of the wreath-laying event in London.
