Gavin O'Connor, Ben Affleck's new film director, recently addressed the disappearance of Ana Kendrick from The Accountant franchise.
In a new interview with The Direct, Gavin clarified that Anna Kedrick's absence was always intended for the second film.
In the original film, Anna played Christian Wolff's (Ben Affleck) love interest, Dana Cummings. While other performers repeated their roles in the sequel, Anna was obviously absent.
Gavin O'Connor went on to say that he and screenwriter Bill Dubuque intended the second film to be completely on Christian's delicate sibling dynamic with his estranged brother Brax, played by Jon Bernthal.
Nonetheless, the director promised, "Don't be surprised if Dana, [Kendrick] shows up in the third film."
He stated before the conclusion that Anna is "a hundred percent in if we want" her to return to the series.
For those unfamiliar, The Accountant 2 has earned fantastic reviews from moviegoers. Ben Affleck also stated that the film exceeded the standards of his harshest critics: his children, whom he shares with Jennifer Garner.
