Ben Stiller has been an avid social media user for quite some time. However, he was in the past, as were many internet contacts.
So, what changed?
The National Treasure actress told Variety, "I find it really inspiring to interact with the audience because my generation never had that growing up."
He went on to say, "When someone doesn't like something, I'll [still] go back and forth with them occasionally, which I enjoy because, typically, once you start talking to someone or connecting, something nice might come out of it. It's also sort of entertaining. And at the end of the day, I don't take it too seriously."
Aside from that, Ben is riding the popularity of Severance, for which he serves as director and executive producer.
A training video of the Lumon, voiced by Keanu Reeves, aired during the most recent season.
However, on a previous Jimmy Kimmel Show, he stated that former President Barack Obama was his first pick.
"I did not ask him in person. I knew someone who knew his lawyer, and he said, 'I can convey the request if you send an email,' so I emailed him."
He went on: "Like two days later I get an email back from president Barack Obama saying, 'Hey Ben, big fan of the show, love Season 1, can't wait for Season 2."
"I don't think I have the time in my schedule to make this happen." And, really, what's more essential than doing the narration for the animated building in Severance? But it was wonderful that he answered," Ben said.
