Martin Compston, the actor of Line of Duty, recently talked out about the comeback of the BBC's iconic police corruption drama.
For those unfamiliar, Line of Duty, created by Jed Mercurio, stars Compston as Steve Arnott with Adrian Dunbar and Vicky McClure.
The show premiered in 2012, continued for six seasons, and finished in 2021, becoming one of the BBC's most popular shows with 13 million viewers for the conclusion.
In an interview with The Sun newspaper, the 40-year-old Scottish actor and former footballer discussed the show's return, adding, "We're always talking about possibilities, schedules, and whatnot." Everyone is busy right now, so I believe anything would be a long shot."
He said, "It's great. It's the finest sensation as an actor to feel like the entire country is in your hands with what's coming next, and only a handful of you know who's surviving and what's going on."
"But because we are all so close and want the best for the show, we would not do it again simply for the purpose of it. We place a high value on its quality. So if we return, it will be for the right reasons," the Disappearance of Alice Creed actress stated.
Before ending, Compston presently plays Fulmer Hamilton in Amazon Prime's The Rig season 2, which premiered on January 2, 2025.
