Meghan Markle continues to use her royal title because it gives her authority in the United States and allows her to stand out, according to a public relations expert.
Speaking with The Sun, PR specialist Mark Borkowski noted that Meghan's connection to the Royal family is a significant benefit that helps her remain important while working on agreements or initiatives.
He pointed out that without the royal link, the Duchess of Sussex would be treated as simply another star.
"Of course it adds weight and she knows it adds weight," he went on.
The analyst went on: "And it gives that sort of subliminal aura that she still has links with the British Royal Family, which is a very, very, very powerful brand globally, particularly in America."
"If you are detached from that, you lose your social capital and your weight in terms of some of the transactions that she is attempting to make.
"I'm sure she uses that when it's necessary, like when she has to land something, to remind people of the power she may have.
"This is a power game. That status is critical because without it, she is just another B-lister on a continent rife with superstars.
