Meghan Markle has been accused of exploiting her HRH status to obtain VIP treatment despite being prohibited by the Royal family from doing so.
Mark Borkowski, a public relations specialist, claimed the Duchess of Sussex was "caught out" using the HRH designation to increase her standing.
During a frank interview on The Jamie Kern Lima Show, presenter Jamie Kern Lima displayed a gift basket she received from Meghan.
The basket, which featured handmade strawberry sauce and ice cream, was accompanied by a message written "With Compliments of HRH the Duchess of Sussex."
Speaking with The Sun, the expert stated that he feels the title provides her additional authority and helps her stand out, particularly in the United States, where royal ties are viewed as significant.
"It's clearly social capital," he remarked. "I mean, I think that I'm sure her PA uses it to ensure that she gets that top table at a restaurant."
"Of course it adds weight and she knows it adds weight," he told me. "And it provides the impression that she still has ties to the British Royal Family, which is a very, very big brand internationally, particularly in America.
"And the truth is, if you are detached from that, you lose your social capital and your weight in terms of some of the deals that she is attempting to make.
"This is a power game. And especially in America, where that status is so vital, because without it, she's just another type of B-lister on a continent rife with superstars.
