Princess Eugenie shared a particular recollection with the late Queen Elizabeth.
Eugenie, the Princess of York, spoke with her sister Beatrice on the podcast Lessons From Our Mother, which is presented by Cressida Bonas and her half-sister Isabella Branson.
During the most recent episode, Queen Elizabeth's grandchildren shared some thoughtful memories with her.
The youngest daughter of Prince Andrew stated, "I recall once we were staying for the summer holidays. I like browsing through the cuisine magazines mom had, and I remember showing her this fish avocado salad that looked really good."
"The next day or week, there was a trout avocado salad at lunch...it was the attention to detail and thoughtfulness." She thought about it, recalled it, and thought how lovely that would be for me," she said.
Eugenie went on to say that she "always" talks about the late Queen, adding that "it brings you to tears thinking about all the joy that she created for so many people."
"Gone are the days of people and women like my grandmother, because she really did show up all the time."
"I believe it is now so simple for individuals to cancel, say no, and live such fleeting lives. So [...] to preserve the principles that she stood for - I'm honored that a piece of her lives on through me to be able to do so," Princess Eugenie said.
Princess Eugenie is the daughter of the Duke of York, Prince Andrew, and Sarah Ferguson.
