The Weeknd will release his film Hurry Up Tomorrow on May 16, 2025.
Ahead of its release, and following the release of his sixth studio album of the same name, the musician, born Abel Tesfaye, warned that this period would see the end of his stage moniker, The Weeknd.
In his most recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, the Blinding Lights singer left up the possibility that everything was not as definitive as we believed.
Tesfaye, who attended CinemaCon alongside Hurry Up Tomorrow co-star Jenna Ortega and director Trey Edward Shults, said, "It seems like it. I mean, I've dabbled with the concept of doing CDs before."
"But it might simply be a rebirth. Who knows. The Save Your Tears singer added.
For those who are unaware, The Weeknd's film Hurry Up Tomorrow will be published on May 16 and will star him as a fictitious version of himself.
He would take by the name Abel and play a musician suffering from sleeplessness who is drawn into a psychologically dark journey by a stranger named Anima (Jenna Ortega).
Barry Keoghan plays his manager, Lee, and the narrative is based on one of Tesfaye's real-life incidents, when he lost his voice in the middle of a gig in 2022.
