In Thunderbolts*, Marvel addresses loneliness and sadness. Florence Pugh, who plays Yelena, thinks it's a big thing.
In an interview with EW, the actress stated, "Oh my goodness, it's massive." It's a big thing. It's a big thing because that concept was created on a Marvel budget, and they cared enough about it to make it the primary event."
"And that is so important, so important for everybody right now," she keeps saying.
Florence stated that this motif also appears in the 2021 film Black Widow. "It was the story of those girls and those women and the control that they were put under, that really made me want to be a part of that story," the film's lead claims.
"And I was like, 'Whoa, loads of girls are going to go and watch this movie and they're going to be educated and inspired, and that's so cool,'" she tells me.
"And I feel the same way about this. "So many people, adults and children, are going to watch this, and if they need it, they're going to see themselves or their friends or their partners in it, and it's so wonderful to be able to make a movie for the masses that you know will be useful," Florence adds.
Thunderbolts* is now in cinemas.
