Canva AI, the company's portfolio of artificial intelligence (AI) features, got a language-based update on Monday. The visual communication platform is expanding its AI helper into 16 more languages, including Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, and Spanish. This will allow users who are more comfortable in their native language to use the different AI technologies available in those languages. Users can also create prompts in the supported language, and the tools will be able to offer the results. Previously, Canva AI only supported the English language.
Canva AI is now available in sixteen languages
In a news statement, the business stated that the conversational AI assistant, which debuted in April 2025, will now support other languages. Apart from English, it currently supports Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai, Turkish, and Vietnamese.
Language extension is more than just a surface-level feature. The firm said that Canva AI is now fluent in 31 languages. This implies it can comprehend the local norms and cultural subtleties of various languages, resulting in more contextually correct outputs depending on prompts. The business does not reveal which 31 locales are covered by the AI helper. Notably, Canva AI will now respond and provide output when users make spoken requests in any of the supported languages.
Continuing with the geographical expansion, the business added, "Someone in Tokyo asking for a professional presentation will see Canva AI consider Japanese design sensibilities, or someone in Mumbai requesting a festive poster will see Canva AI draw from culturally-relevant visual elements."
The business highlighted the popularity of Canva AI, stating that the tools have been used over 20 billion times since their inception, making it one of the platform's fastest growing offers. Canva also claimed to have exceeded $3.3 billion (approximately Rs. 29,300 crore) in yearly sales and had 240 million global users.
Notably, Canva AI can create graphics and pictures, compose papers, write front-end oriented code, and even produce a video clip using Google's Veo 3 AI model. Aside from these, AI tools may remove and enlarge backdrop, delete elements, rearrange elements, perform localized modifications, and much more. Canva AI is a premium feature that comes with all of the platform's subscription plans.
