Lupin the Third: The Castle of Cagliostro, Hayao Miyazaki's directorial debut, will receive a fresh international theatrical release in English dub.
His first anime film, made by Miyazaki's animation firm "Studio Ghibli," debuted in Japanese theaters in December 1997.
Crunchyroll and Discotek Media collaborated to create a unique Collector's Edition of the Japanese director's debut film, which is currently available for pre-order on Crunchyroll's online shop.
The planned English dub of Lupin III will include actresses Michelle Ruff, Richard Epcar, Lex Lang, and Tony Oliver.
Crunchyroll describes Miyazaki's film as follows: "In the twilight of his career, master thief Lupin the Third's greatest heist has encountered a hitch. What should have been bundles of cash from a major casino turned out to be excellent counterfeiters!"
"Together with his partner-in-crime Jigen, Lupin heads to the remote European nation of Cagliostro to exact revenge."
"Not everything goes as planned; the two meet Clarisse, a royal damsel in distress who is forced to marry the evil Count Cagliostro against her will... Lupin and Jigen, together with Lupin's volatile ex-girlfriend Fujiko and swordsman Goemon, must battle their way through a trap-filled castle, a dangerous dungeon, and an army of professional assassins.
Hayao's Lupin the Third: The Castle of Cagliostro is scheduled to be released in theaters on December 15, 2025.
