The last-minute adjustment in spinning the direction of turnrables disrupted Harry Styles' performance at the 2023 Grammys.
On Sunday night, the Harry's House hitmaker was awarded the Grammy for best pop vocal album of the year.
Things went wrong on the technical side for Styles, 28, during his performance of his smash As It Was from the album Harry's House.
The Don't Worry Darlings star was unfazed, but his dancers disclosed on social media that the performance was nearly a disaster.
Styles and his dancers were meant to perform on a stage with a rotating turntable, but the spin direction was modified from what had been practised.
"The turntable started spinning in reverse the instant the curtain opened and it was time to perform," dancer Brandon Mathis reported on Instagram.
"Backward. On live television, we were all freaked out. There was nothing we could do about it. So, after a week of perfecting this piece this way, when it comes time to perform, it begins going [the opposite] way."
"And in real time, we have to troubleshoot and try to execute an entire piece in reverse. "Speaking of professionalism," he added.
Dexter, another dancer, said on TikTok that they trained going anticlockwise "loads of times" until it was "spotless and gorgeous."
The dancers attempted to gain the attention of the turntable technician, but nothing was done.
"Fortunately, we worked together and tried our best, and we got to one cool configuration in time for the overhead picture but had to kind of adjust the rest, and Harry did his best to walk in reverse and everything while he was singing."
