According to MakingStarWars, the fourth season of The Mandalorian might be transformed into a feature-length picture rather than a standard series airing on Disney+.
The continuing Writers Guild of America and Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists strikes, according to reports, are causing possible delays for Lucasfilm and Disney. These setbacks may jeopardise the completion of the two additional seasons required to build up The Mandalorian's originally scheduled feature.
To address the possible issue, talks are said to be ongoing to investigate the prospect of converting Season 4 into a solo film. This film would follow a previously planned movie about Rey creating a new Jedi Order.
The executive producer of The Mandalorian, Jon Favreau, has stated that the plot for Season 4 has already been written. However, the strikes might cause a delay in production, and an official release date for Season 4 is yet unknown.
Furthermore, Lucasfilm previously announced that Dave Filoni is working on a film that will connect multiple Disney+ Star Wars series, and rumours suggest that it will be inspired by Timothy Zahn's classic Star Wars novel, Heir to the Empire, focusing on Grand Admiral Thrawn's rise to power following the deaths of Darth Sidious and Darth Vader.
It's worth noting that neither Lucasfilm nor Disney have replied to these rumours, thus their veracity should be questioned. As of currently, nothing is known about the proposed film and its relationship to the larger Star Wars world.
