Lizzie Cundy, Meghan Markle's old companion, has slammed Prince Harry's fiancée for her remarks about former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham.
Lizzie also described the Duchess's initial response to meeting Victoria Beckham at a charity event in 2013, adding, "Meghan's face lit up like a Christmas tree" during their red carpet rendezvous.
Lizzie discussed Meghan and Victoria's relationship in the wake of rumours that Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, felt the Beckhams were leaking material to the press.
Lizzie, who was with the former Suits actor when she first encountered Posh Spice at the Global Gift Gala in 2013, told the Mirror: "Meghan is saying that Victoria leaked stories." Victoria was at the event the second time I saw Meghan, and I've never heard someone shriek quite like her.
"Meghan was ecstatic to see Victoria Beckham." 'Oh my goodness, that's Victoria Beckham!" she said.
"It was crazy; I told Meghan, 'You've got to calm down and be cool,' and now Harry has apparently listened to Meghan, claiming Victoria has done stories predicting where Meghan would go." "There were places Victoria recommended Meghan visit when she arrived in London, and they began to appear in the press," she continued.
Meghan posted a column on her now-defunct blog, The Tig, about her "closest friends" before her royal wedding to Prince Harry, and David and Victoria were only two of the names on there.
They are now alleged to be on bad terms, with the Beckhams distancing themselves from the former starlet.
"This isn't the case," Lizzie said, "I was the one who knew Meghan before Harry and I saw the reaction to Victoria." She was a true fan, and she allowed the show to air - Victoria doesn't need to leak stuff, and she doesn't need to do that. Victoria and David, on the other hand, are true family people who object to Meghan's denigration of the Royal Family and her own father.
"I believe Victoria and David, like the other friends who attended the wedding, have gradually backed away from Meghan." Victoria would never have shared stories since these are such close-knit individuals."
