Apple Smart Glasses and a more economical Vision Pro are apparently on the company's product pipeline and might be released in the future. According to reports, the business may release a lower-cost version of the Apple Vision Pro as early as next year. The gadget could have less functions than the current mixed-reality headset. Smart glasses, on the other hand, are claimed to be in the experimental stage and may not be available for another few years.
Apple Smart Glasses, Cheaper Vision Pro Leaks
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman stated in his Power On email FAQ (via 9to5Mac) that despite the difficulties with the Apple Vision Pro, the Cupertino-based tech firm is dedicated to expanding its headset-focused product line. The corporation is apparently aiming to offer two new gadgets, one of which might be available as early as next year.
According to Gurman, a stripped-down version of the headgear with less functions might be released around 2025. This is not the first time he's referenced the Vision Pro model. In June, a report said that the less expensive Vision Pro might cost between $1.500 (approximately Rs. 125,900) and $2,000 (about Rs. 167,900).
However, it is unclear what Apple might do to lower the device's pricing. Some speculations suggest that some sensors and cameras may be deleted. Cheaper materials might potentially be utilized to construct the gadget.
Apple Smart eyewear, an augmented reality-focused eyewear comparable to the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses, are also said to be on the tech giant's agenda. These were initially reported in February, when Gurman stated that technological obstacles had caused the device's development to be suspended.
However, he now asserts that the corporation is still dedicated to the AR glasses and plans to launch them in the future. A debut date was not specified, although a report last month suggested that it may be available in 2027.
According to a recent source, the second version of the Vision Pro is also under development. It is reported to receive many additional advancements, including a speedier processor and improvements to the external cameras. Apple is also apparently working on methods to make the mixed reality headset lighter and more pleasant to wear for extended periods of time.
