Miley Cyrus was honored as the youngest-ever Disney Legend at D23.
Cyrus was presented and honored by Lainey Wilson, who sang her own rendition of Hannah Montana's classic The Best of Both Worlds.
"Miley, I want to thank you for never being afraid to step outside the box, always staying true to yourself, and most importantly, always kicking butt," Cyrus's mother remarked to Wilson.
"I am going to let everyone in on a little Disney Legend secret. I'm the one who tells you what you shouldn't know. And what I want to convey is that even legends feel terrified," the 31-year-old singer began her acceptance speech.
"I am afraid right now, but the difference is that we do it regardless, and you can all do it every day. It is renowned to feel terrified but do it regardless. There is no such thing as failure when one tries. "That's the only way you lose," Cyrus said, wiping her eyes.
In 2005, Disney embarked on a drive to restructure the firm. That's why they recruited Bob Iger and myself," Cyrus explained, recalling how she was cast in Hannah Montana.
"I stand here, still proud to have been Hannah Montana," the singer stated.
"This award is dedicated to Hannah and all of her fantastic, loyal followers, and to everyone who has helped my dream come true. "To quote the legend herself, 'This is the life,'" she said, referring to the Hannah Montana song of the same name.
