Prince William, who has a strong relationship with his cousin Zara Tindall, stunned her when he couldn't suppress his feelings.
William and Zara have had a tight relationship throughout their adulthood, and they have supported one other through difficult times.
The Prince of Wales made an unexpected disclosure about the moment his cousin made the royal family proud in 2005, reflecting their strong relationship.
William told Zara's husband, Mike Tindall, on their September 2023 The Good, The Bad & The Rugby podcast, that he sobbed when watching Zara win the European Championship on her favorite horse, Toytown, in 2005.
"I was camping on Exmoor at the time," the future king explained. "We were all huddled around the phone, watching it. She was there, blubbing, and the flag was being raised. "I was in pieces."
Kate Middleton, who was also present during the podcast with Princess Anne, said, "I can remember because you came back and said I've never been so proud of anyone."
Zara stated in a different interview that she was "very surprised" since she "never heard him say that before."
She went on to tell that it was her most favorite times" since all of her relatives came and watched on the last day.
"Everyone is normally so busy, it's difficult to come and watch, so it was fantastic to have everyone there. It enhanced its already unique qualities. They were all quite supportive and proud. "It was great."
