The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic has been rumored to be redesigned, and we now have our first look at what it may look like. Recently released renderings apparently reveal a new "squircle" design for the wristwatch, akin to the flagship Galaxy Watch Ultra, that will replace the old circular shape. While the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is believed to maintain trademark components such as a rotating bezel, it may include an extra button that might provide more functionality.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic Design Leak
In a post, SammyGuru worked with source OnLeaks to offer the 5K CAD renderings of the supposed Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic. The smartwatch is claimed to be 6 x 46.5 x 14.2mm in size and possibly include a 1.5-inch display. Its design looks to be inspired by the Galaxy Watch Ultra, with a circular screen set in a square dial, resulting in the "squircle" appearance.
The rumored Galaxy Watch 8 Classic features recognizable design components including a rotating crown and two physical buttons on the side. But what's new might be a third additional button, which is reported to reside in the center of the existing two buttons on the smartwatch's right spine and could be highlighted in orange, like the Galaxy Watch Ultra.
While its use is unknown, Samsung might include a similar action to the Quick button on the flagship wearable.
These CAD models confirm prior information gleaned from leaked One UI 8 Watch animation files, which hinted to the Classic model returning with a redesigned squircle design and a new Quick button. It is also expected to use Galaxy Watch Ultra's expanded vibration pattern capability to provide improved haptic feedback. The alleged Galaxy Watch 8 Classic may be available in a single 47mm size and may include a 435mAh battery, which might convert to a usual battery capacity of 450mAh.
More information is anticipated to emerge in the coming months as the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic release date approaches. It is expected to be unveiled during the Galaxy Unpacked event in the summer, with Samsung's next-generation foldable devices.
