The Nubia Z80 Ultra is slated to arrive in China shortly, according to ZTE Mobile Devices President Ni Fei's Weibo announcement on Friday. The forthcoming flagship will be powered by Qualcomm's recently announced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The business has also released a camera sample, revealing that the phone would be equipped with a 1/1.55 inch sensor. The Nubia Z80 Ultra will include a full-screen display with a refresh rate of 144Hz and touch sampling rate of 380Hz. The Nubia Z80 Ultra will be released as the successor to last year's Nubia Z70 Ultra.
Nubia Z80 Ultra Launch Timeline and Specifications
Ni Fei and Nubia announced that the Nubia Z80 Ultra will arrive in China in October. It will be powered by the newest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The CEO also posted a camera sample of the Nubia Z80 Ultra on Weibo, revealing that it would have a 1/1.55-inch sensor, an f/1.8 aperture, and a 'seven-element lens system' (translation from Chinese).
The Nubia Z80 Ultra, like its predecessors, will have a full-screen display with no notches or punch-hole cutouts, implying that the front camera will remain under the display. The display is proven to have a 144Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, and up to 3,000 instantaneous touch sampling rates.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 debuted on Wednesday during the annual Snapdragon Tech Summit. It uses 3nm manufacturing technology and is expected to outperform the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor by 20%.
The new Qualcomm processor has two prime CPU cores clocked at 4.6GHz and six performance cores running at 3.62GHz. Aside from Nubia, iQOO, OnePlus, and Realme have all stated that their forthcoming flagship phones would use the Snapdragon processor. Xiaomi's new 17 series is the first to have Qualcomm's latest processor.
The incoming Nubia Z80 Ultra is believed to be an improvement over the Z70 Ultra from last year. The Nubia Z70 Ultra featured the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, up to 24GB of RAM, and a 6,150mAh battery with 80W rapid charging. It sports a 6.85-inch AMOLED display and a triple back camera arrangement, which includes a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 64-megapixel telephoto lens.
The Nubia Z70 Ultra starts at CNY 4,599 (approximately Rs. 53,700) for the 12GB + 256GB variant.
