Before his disastrous Newsnight interview, Prince Andrew was warned.
The Duke of York, who has since been removed from his military duties, previously spoke with BBC's Emily Mailtis about his links with sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
Paul Tweet stated of the 2019 interview, "It was raised that he was considering doing an interview with Emily Maitlis on Newsnight."
"I saw that it would be a cross-examination in a situation where he has no experience dealing with the media... or just dealing with people in general."
"He would be very trusting in his approach to people, very naive." "And I said, look, sir, that's not a good idea," he continued.
"Because he believed he had not engaged in any inappropriate behaviour, he felt he could explain his position." But I certainly left no mistake about my feelings about whether they should do it or not."
"I told him, absolutely not," Mr Tweed continued. No way, no how. Anyway, no one commented at that point, so I departed. I didn't think the Newsnight interview was going to happen."
"It amazes me that the family has been able to mentally survive all of this," he said, remembering Queen Elizabeth II.
