The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh are expecting important news from a loved one.
James, Earl of Wessex—the 16-year-old son of Prince Edward and the Duchess of Edinburgh—has only one week until he gets possibly life-changing GCSE results, according to GB News.
The earl, who is 15th in line to the throne, will find out his academic results on August 22.
James is anticipated to be in Balmoral with senior royals such as Prince William, Princess Kate, the King, and the Queen while he awaits the results.
However, he will be waiting for the news from farther south, where workers at Radley College, his Oxfordshire school, are preparing marks for him and his peers.
Although James' GCSE subjects are unknown, he may be confident given Radley College's track record. In 2023, the prominent boys' boarding school recorded a large proportion of top grades (7-9, comparable to A or A*).
The Earl's results are expected to be kept confidential in accordance with royal procedure. When his sister, Lady Louise Windsor, took her GCSEs four years ago, Buckingham Palace kept the results private, thinking them a personal issue.
Her mother, Sophie, went out about her academic aptitude at the time, telling the Times: "She's studying hard and will do A-levels.
"I hope she attends university. I would not force her, but she is free to do so... "She is quite clever!"
Lady Louise later followed in the footsteps of the Prince and Princess of Wales, travelling over nine hours from her home in Bagshot Park to the University of St Andrews.
Lady Louise, 20, is now studying an English degree at the ancient seaside institution, following up on her A-level studies in English, History, Politics, and Drama.
As Prince Edward's son contemplates his own university possibilities, Prince George will begin senior school in September.
