Usher fans will have to wait a bit longer for the Past Present Future Tour to begin.
After postponing the tour's opening night in Atlanta only hours before the event on Wednesday, the King of R&B revealed the following day on Instagram that he is postponing two more gigs due to a neck injury incurred during preparations.
"Earlier this week, I suffered a neck injury while rehearsing to provide my fans with the greatest USHER show of all time," Usher, 45, said in a statement.
He had planned to be back in time for the opening night, but despite physical therapy and medical care, his injury has not healed as predicted.
"Unfortunately, the injury has not healed yet, and my doctors have instructed me not to perform any shows this week," the eight-time Grammy winner explained, adding that he is hoping for a speedy recovery.
"I love my fans and thank you for understanding that this injury must be healed so that I can give you the 100% excellence that you expect from a USHER show," he'd said.
The postponed gigs at Atlanta's State Farm Arena have been rescheduled for December 9–12.
