Fifa has declared that Saudi Arabia's application to host the 2034 World Cup achieved the best evaluation score in the tournament's history, according to the Saudi Gazette on Saturday.
The country's application to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup got a remarkable assessment score of 419.8 out of 500, which was disclosed prior to the official announcement of the Fifa World Cup hosts for 2030 and 2034.
The hosts for future tournaments will be selected during the Fifa Congress on December 11.
The offer, presented by the Kingdom in July under the tagline "Growing Together," is consistent with its Vision 2030, which seeks to establish Saudi Arabia as a global leader in hosting major sporting events such as the FIFA Club World Cup and Formula One Grand Prix.
Yasser Al-Misehal, President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, stated that the bid is focused on giving an outstanding tournament experience.
"Football is at the heart of Saudi culture, and we aim to offer an unforgettable event that showcases the Kingdom's rich heritage and renowned hospitality," he told reporters.
The assessment process included an inspection tour in October, during which FIFA inspected several candidate host towns, stadiums, and amenities.
The Kingdom's proposal proposes staging matches at 15 stadiums spanning five major cities — Riyadh, Jeddah, Khobar, Abha, and NEOM — as well as 10 other host locations, with the goal of hosting the first-ever 48-team FIFA World Cup in a single country.
Meanwhile, Hammad Albalawi, chairman of Saudi Arabia's Fifa World Cup 2034 bid unit, stated that "Our bid demonstrates the progress we've made in football and our commitment to delivering the highest technical standards." With various host cities and cutting-edge infrastructure, we hope to provide an unforgettable experience for teams, spectators, and officials."
