Oppo is working on three smartphone models that might have much larger batteries – at least by modern standards. While we've begun to see devices with 6,000mAh batteries in 2024, as well as a transition to silicon carbon batteries, a source says that the Chinese phone maker is already working on two smartphones with up to 7,000mAh batteries. Meanwhile, recent sources indicate that another business may release a phone with a 7,000mAh battery as early as next month.
Oppo's smartphones might include large batteries that support 80W charging
According to tipster Digital Chat Station's (translated from Chinese) Weibo post, Oppo's "next high performance new phone" will have huge batteries. The user disclosed details regarding three devices in development, all of which are equipped with larger batteries than the company's current flagship series.
The first of the tipster's three smartphones might have a 6,285mAh battery (or 6,400mAh on average). Meanwhile, the business is rumored to be developing another device with a bigger 6,850mAh battery (7,000mAh is common). Both variants are supposed to allow 80W charging.
According to the tipster, a third smartphone with a dual cell 6,140mAh battery (6,300mAh on average) is also in development. While this model is smaller than the other two, it may come with 100W charging capabilities.
A new report says that a smartphone with a 7,000mAh battery might be released in December. Realme has set a December 11 launch date for the next Realme Neo 7, and a fresh leak says that the phone will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ CPU and a 7,000mAh battery.
It's worth mentioning that Oppo hasn't announced any forthcoming smartphones with huge batteries, so take these statements with a grain of salt. The tipster has a strong track record of delivering information concerning unreleased smartphones, so we may hear more about these rumored handsets in the coming months.
