Prince Harry and Meghan Markle experienced an emotional moment during the Invictus Games when they met a very special four-legged guest.
On February 9, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited a wheelchair curling tournament and were introduced to Thorn, a 3-year-old black Labrador puppy who offers mental health assistance to Yukon first responders.
The reunion triggered strong emotions for Harry and Meghan, who had recently lost their pet rescue beagle, Guy.
"Harry came right over and sat right next to Thorn, kneeled down, started petting him, and said how much he misses his dog," Thorn's handler, Ali Harper, told People. "And said thank you very much for what we do with Thorn."
Meghan confirmed Guy's death last month in a moving Instagram tribute, sharing personal recollections of the dog who had been by her side through every significant milestone - from Suits to parenthood.
The pair, known for their animal-loving nature, still has their black Labrador, Pula, and another senior rescue beagle, Mamma Mia.
