Prince Harry's conflict with his family and the public does not appear to be over anytime soon, as his forceful remarks have sparked a fresh controversy.
King Charles III's youngest son Harry may not have meant to offend the British, as he praised and admired Canadians for their warm reception and support of him and his wife, Meghan Markle, throughout both happy and painful times.
However, some opponents view his statements as a strike at the royal family and the British people.
During a recent interview with CTV News, a Canadian media organization, the Duke of Sussex was asked why he loves Canada.
In answer to the inquiry, Harry stated, "Canada has been really wonderful to my wife throughout the years. And it's also been really beneficial to us."
The statements have ignited a fresh discussion, with some seeing them as a thinly veiled blow at his own people, while others say Harry had no such purpose and was just thanking the people for their hospitality, love, and respect.
The Duke went on to say, "Certainly, in 2020, it was amazing for us to be able to be in Canada on Vancouver Island with Archie and be able to go for hikes and be amongst the locals while feeling safe." We were there for about six weeks before anyone discovered out. We ran into folks the entire time, and nobody notified anyone. Yes, they informed others, although there isn't much media or paparazzi culture on Vancouver Island."
Harry is presently in Canada for the seventh edition of the Invictus Games, which he launched in London in 2014 for injured military veterans. However, Meghan left the Games earlier to see her children.
