On Thursday, Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie experienced a rare intimate moment while visiting Nepal's National Botanic Garden in Godawari.
The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh were spotted holding hands as they walked through the picturesque garden after seeing the orchid house, with the gorgeous Kathmandu Valley in the background.
The pair, both 60 years old, appeared to be in a good mood all day. Sophie looked effortlessly gorgeous with a skirt covered with red flower designs and a trendy pink jacket.
The third day of their six-day vacation to Nepal saw them participate in a variety of events, including a special tree planting ceremony.
In a fun moment, the pair planted a sapling between two trees originally planted by Edward's parents, the late Queen and Duke of Edinburgh, in 1986.
"That's the best bit of exercise I've had in ages," Edward said while shoveling dirt, to which Sophie replied, "Keep going, darling."
Their visit also addressed Nepal's climate issues and environmental projects. During the trip, the Duke unveiled a new botanic training initiative aimed at connecting young Nepali horticulturists with the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh (RGBE), which is patronised by King Charles.
The plan aims to expand on RBGE and Nepalese botanists' 25-year partnership in biodiversity study and protection.
The couple's tour exemplified the UK and Nepal's shared dedication to environmental protection and botanical study.
Sophie also invited local students to help plant a rhododendron in the garden, making the day a wonderful celebration of cultural interaction and environmental responsibility.
