Bowen Yang, a longtime Saturday Night Live cast member, remarked on whether he sees a future with the show.
The 34-year-old actor and comedian has performed in over 100 episodes of the late-night weekend program, and he stated, "Especially after the 50th, I'm seeing what life after the show is like and how beautiful it is, and how so many people of different ages are connected through this one platform."
In an interview with People Magazine, the Wicked actor said, "And then with SNL, like I said, it's this growing, living thing where new people come in and you do have to sort of make way for them and to grow and to keep elevating themselves,"
Nonetheless, he said, "that inevitably requires me to sort of hang it up at some point — but I don't know what the vision is yet."
Yang revealed that the show's production is extremely time-consuming. "The new season of SNL, I'm simply like, 'Oh, yeah. My time is not my own. And I tell my buddies, 'I'm not actually going to see you until June.'"
He stated that his hectic schedule has an impact on all facets of his life, including his love life: "People with whom I've gone on a couple of decent dates, I'm like, 'Hey, it's not for lack of desire. My time is slipping away from me, and I'm so sorry. It's not a you thing; it's a me thing."
Although Yang values his entire experience as a part of the program, the tough schedule occasionally causes him to consider his future with the comedy show.
