David Beckham, a former footballer who was once regarded as the most attractive guy, has lately collaborated with UNICEF to start a worldwide fundraising drive targeted at improving the lives of children throughout the world.
The 49-year-old singer and loving father of four unveiled the campaign on April 15, 2025, starting off a month-long series of activities commemorating his 50th birthday on May 2.
In a statement, long-time UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador David said, "We are witnessing a global funding crisis where the most vulnerable children are suffering the most and urgently need our help."
The campaign aims to generate funds to safeguard girls and young women from harmful practices like as child marriage, female genital mutilation, and maltreatment. However, it will also provide them with the opportunity to take over David's social media accounts, where they will share their own tales as well as the vital work.
In an Instagram video, David said, "Next month, I will turn 50. It's a significant milestone that has caused me to reflect on the opportunities and events that have molded my life.
"In retrospect, my work with @UNICEF has provided me with some of the most memorable experiences.
"As a father of four amazing children, I know how lucky my family is to be safe and have access to education and healthcare."
He said, "I've seen children in the most difficult situations all around the world, and I've seen what can happen when they are given the help they need to take charge of their life.
"Today, 25 years since my first visit to a women's centre in Thailand, the world is a very difficult place for children - especially girls."
David became a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF in 2005, and he will be in this vital capacity for the twentieth year in 2025.
