King Charles III took a major step in clearing the air concerning royal tradition with his important gesture, amidst concerns over the monarchy's survival.
The monarch's office has astonished admirers by reminding them of Queen Alexandra's coronation in style, including her famed gold attire.
The new exhibition "The Edwardians: Age of Elegance" at Buckingham Palace includes Queen Alexandra's gold coronation, as well as over 300 items from the Royal Collection on show in The King's Gallery.
The royal family published a photo of the gorgeous outfit, which stunned followers with its unique design, on their official Instagram story on Tuesday.
The gesture revealed the 76-year-old monarch's perspective on royal tradition, which he faithfully follows.
The exhibition takes royal enthusiasts down memory lane, delving into the luxurious lifestyles and preferences of two of Britain's most glamorous royal couples: King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, and King George V and Queen Mary.
Kathryn Jones, who organized the exhibition, said: "It's a powerful example of Edward and Alexandra's attempts to balance tradition and modernity as they stood on the cusp of the 20th century: a shining moment of glamour before the world was at war."
As part of the Royal Collection Trust's philanthropic mission, £1 tickets to the exhibition are available to anyone receiving Universal Credit and other designated benefits from April 11 to July 7, and September 29 to November 23, 2025.
The King's Gallery provides a variety of concessionary pricing, including a Young Person (18-24) discount, and visitors who purchase regular tickets directly from the Royal Collection Trust can convert them into a 1-Year Pass, which grants free re-entry for 12 months.
