David Harbour has finally spoken out about the mystery surrounding his marriage to Lily Allen.
In a new interview with GQ Hype, released on Wednesday, April 23, the Stranger Things star did neither confirm or deny the separation explicitly. However, he made it plain that he is not interested in spreading rumors.
"I'm protective of the people and the reality of my life," Harbour said reporters. "There's no use in that form of engaging [with tabloid news] because it's all based on hysterical hyperbole."
He went on to say that discussing the topic will only lead to "a salacious s**tshow of humiliation."
While Harbour did not explicitly address the state of their relationship, he did hint at personal turmoil.
"There is a lot of change. "A huge amount of change," he conceded. Instead of resisting, he stated, "The best thing that I can do is pour all of that experience into work..." I can always be useful."
Harbour, 50, and Allen, 39, married in 2020. She has two kids from her previous marriage. Rumours of a breakup first surfaced in late 2024, when Harbour was spotted on Raya and subsequently appeared at public occasions without his marital band.
Allen hasn't publicly addressed the separation, but she did confess on her Miss Me? podcast that she had been "spiralling," later adding that time in a treatment center made her feel "grateful" and "stronger." She is currently focusing on a "lifelong journey of healing."
