Google said on Monday that a new event dedicated to Android releases will be webcast a week before its annual developer conference, I/O 2025, begins. The new series, titled The Android Show: I/O Edition, will feature various announcements about the upcoming generation of the Android operating system (OS), Android 16. The concert is scheduled for May 13, one week before I/O 2025 begins on May 20. While Google has a long record of revealing minor updates to Android throughout the year, the marquee features are typically kept for Google I/O, making The Android Show a first for the Mountain View-based tech behemoth.
