Motorola Solutions introduced the SVX on Monday, a gadget that combines a remote speaker microphone, body camera, and Assist, an AI assistant designed to help first responders save time and respond to situations.
Public safety organizations have been ramping up their modernization efforts, seeking for goods and solutions that speed emergency response and evidence collecting.
Motorola Solutions intends to expand on its leading position in the public safety industry, which now routes more than 60% of 911 calls in the United States via the company's software systems.
The SVX is designed to interact with Motorola's APX NEXT radios, allowing law enforcement agents to analyze data and communicate in real time.
Motorola Solutions stated that the AI assistant and gadget will connect with the company's existing systems and augment them.
Assist can process information such as car registration plate numbers and driver's licenses, providing instant access to pertinent information.
Patrol officers spend more than 40% of their time writing reports on basic data input, which Assist is supposed to cut, according to the business.
"We built this device in collaboration with 32 agencies and 150 users who actively tested and provided feedback," Mahesh Saptharishi, the company's chief technology officer, told Reuters.
Tariffs have caused computer hardware and electronics firms to scramble to restructure their supply networks.
Electronics manufacturers are restructuring supply chains to handle global trade swings caused by US tariffs under President Donald Trump, with a 90-day halt encouraging diversification to nations such as Vietnam and Mexico to reduce costs and disruptions.
"Our supply chain is now highly flexible. Globally, we have manufacturing presence in the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Malaysia, and we optimize our supply chain and production based on the nature of the requirements," Saptharishi stated.
