Following Prince William's attendance at Pope Francis' burial in the Vatican on Saturday, the office of King Charles III produced a touching video and message.
The royal family paid their ultimate respects to the Argentinian pope, who died on Easter Monday at the age of 88.
The footage of Pope Francis' burial was uploaded on the royal family's official Instagram account.
"Earlier today, The Prince of Wales attended Pope Francis' funeral at St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican on behalf of The King," the Palace stated with the video.
The Prince of Wales seemed melancholy in a blue suit and black tie as he paid his respects to Francis' casket beside UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.
William and Kate also paid homage to the Pope, saying, "Today we remember and celebrate the life of Pope Francis."
President Emmanuel Macron attended the Prince's burial. The two showed their respects by lowering their heads.
While performing a serious duty in Rome, William spoke briefly with US President Donald Trump.
The Palace further stated that on his way to the burial, future King William met Melania Trump, the First Lady of the United States, and Brigitte Marie-Claude Macron.
Other European royals attended, including Monaco's Prince Albert and Princess Charlene, Spain's King Felipe and Queen Letizia, and Luxembourg's Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa.
Catholic royals gathered in the first row of St Peter's Basilica to pay honor to the late pontiff.
Around 200 thousand people, including 170 delegations, assembled in front of St. Peter's Basilica to honor the Pope.
